About
Interactive Ellie is a permanent research theme of the center of expertise Interaction Design IXD.
As the impact of technology on our lives grows and as the internet of things reaches out to every aspect of our habitat, objects that we once perceived as lifeless and soulless are suddenly able to communicate with us. Interactive Ellie is the name of an ongoing exploration of how humans might react to a technologically fully animated environment. What happens to us when the spaces that we live in develop characters and personalities? What does that tell us about our future of living in a world dominated by technology?
Interactive Ellie started as a short project in 2016 when the first prototype of an animated hallway was created at Fontys School of ICT in Eindhoven. New research initiatives continue to this day.
